What OMAL actually does

OMAL S.p.A. is an Italian industrial manufacturer founded in 1981 by Agostino Bonomi, based in Rodengo Saiano, Franciacorta, near Brescia. The company designs and produces ball valves, butterfly valves, and pneumatic and electric actuators used in fluid-control systems across chemical, pharmaceutical, energy, hydrogen, maritime, water treatment, and firefighting sectors. In 2017, OMAL became the first valve and actuator company in the world to achieve B Corp certification.

It has been a founding member of the UN Global Compact Network Italy since 2018.

Being the first company in its entire product category, industrial valves and actuators, to achieve B Corp certification gives OMAL a genuinely distinctive claim on SDG9 (industry, innovation and infrastructure), since it set a bar the rest of a traditionally low-transparency manufacturing sector had not yet reached. Its EcoVadis Gold rating and ISO 14001-certified environmental management, combined with green-energy-powered production, extend that commitment to SDG12 (responsible consumption and production) with independently audited evidence rather than a self-reported claim.
