Heat is everywhere — it’s a basic need that makes up more than half of the world’s energy demand. Yet, most of this heat comes from fossil fuels, which are not only harmful to the environment but also getting more expensive by the day. The energy transition demands a serious cut in greenhouse gas emissions, and that’s where renewable energies come in. Among them, thermal solar stands out as the “noblest” energy source: it’s free, reliable, proven, and doesn’t harm forests or farmland. But despite all these perks, thermal solar only covers about 0.5% of heat demand globally. Why? Because of complexity, long installation times, high costs, and tricky building integration. That’s a big hurdle to jump.

Installation and Design Features

The Opticube arrives on-site in a container, which a crane truck places right on the prepared foundations. The connecting pipes to the heating system are cleverly integrated through a hatch in the container, making connections straightforward. The structure itself uses aluminum rails specially designed to hold the solar collectors securely. Once the rails are in place, the thermal solar collectors are fixed onto them, and the primary circuit is connected. This streamlined process means less fuss, less time, and less cost — all while delivering top-notch solar heat performance.
