What is Bastet Noir?

Bastet Noir is a sustainable womenswear label founded in 2016, dedicated to creating elevated essentials for the modern woman on the go. Rooted in timeless design and exceptional craftsmanship, each piece is a quiet constant in a world that’s always changing. Designed and handcrafted in North Macedonia, Bastet Noir focuses on making elevated everyday essentials with a purpose.

Main Benefits of Bastet Noir

Here’s what makes Bastet Noir stand out:

  • Free shipping on orders over $300
  • Carbon-neutral shipping to reduce environmental impact
  • Made by a community of women single parents, empowering artisans
  • Use of high-quality deadstock fabrics sourced from family-owned warehouses in North Macedonia
  • Tailor-made garments crafted to order, ensuring zero waste
  • Strict no-waste policy, eliminating unnecessary surplus

The Women Fund: Empowering Single Mothers

In July 2020, Bastet Noir established the Women Fund to support their small community of women single parents during the pandemic’s devastating impacts. With every purchase, customers can leave a tip—100% of which goes directly to this fund. At the end of each month, the total amount collected is given to the woman-owned studio that crafted the item, ensuring that support directly empowers the artisans behind each piece. It’s a beautiful way to give back and make a real difference.

Deadstock Fabrics: Sustainable Sourcing

Bastet Noir carefully selects high-quality deadstock fabrics for their garments—materials originally unused or leftover from manufacturers. These fabrics come from family-owned warehouses in North Macedonia, where the brand is based. This approach minimizes the carbon footprint while supporting local businesses and the people behind them. It’s a win-win for sustainability and community.

Tailor Made & Zero Waste Philosophy

The brand is committed to responsible fashion consumption. Each garment is meticulously crafted to order, tailored to individual measurements, and produced only when a customer places an order. By skipping mass inventory, Bastet Noir eliminates unnecessary surplus and ensures every piece fits perfectly. This strict no-waste policy is a breath of fresh air in an industry often criticized for overproduction.

Project Impact: Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) Linked to Bastet Noir

  • SDG 5: Gender Equality – Empowering women single parents through the Women Fund
  • SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth – Supporting local artisans and family-owned businesses
  • SDG 12: Responsible Consumption and Production – Using deadstock fabrics and zero-waste production
  • SDG 13: Climate Action – Carbon-neutral shipping and minimizing carbon footprint

Going Beyond Fashion: Sustainability in Every Step

Bastet Noir believes sustainability should extend beyond just garments. That’s why they use carbon-neutral shipping, fully offsetting the environmental impact of delivery through investments in carbon reduction initiatives. It’s not just about what you wear, but how it gets to you. This holistic approach shows a deep commitment to making fashion truly responsible—from design to doorstep.
