What is the WASE Project?

UNLOCKING THE POWER OF WASTE – this is the essence of the WASE project, a next-generation waste-to-energy technology that maximizes biogas production. It features the smallest, smartest, and most efficient biogas technology through a modular electro-methanogenic process. This breakthrough approach brings major advantages over traditional anaerobic digestion methods – imagine boosting energy production by 30%, treating waste 3-10 times faster, achieving a 70% smaller footprint, and improving effluent quality by over 50%. The system is designed as a modular plug & play solution that fits seamlessly into diverse operations, backed by round-the-clock AI and biosensors. It’s technology that not only transforms waste management but also reshapes energy production in an impressively efficient way.

Main Benefits

Some of the key benefits of this technology include:

  • Boosts energy production by 30%
  • Treats waste 3-10x faster
  • 70% smaller footprint
  • Improves effluent quality by more than 50%

These figures speak for themselves, delivering hassle-free biogas technology that saves money and increases revenue, while ensuring operations run smoothly with minimal disruptions.

Anaerobic Digestion Solutions

Anaerobic digestion solutions through the WASE project are designed to improve methane yields, double feeding rates, and maximize plant efficiency. With round-the-clock insights steering the process, the system guarantees optimal performance. The process is straightforward yet powerful – a modern twist on a tried and tested method that evolves continuously. This means enhanced plant productivity and a more efficient way of processing waste, paired with a dynamic approach that meets the needs of today’s fast-paced industry.

Sustainability in Action

Dairy and agriculture sectors benefit immensely by turning byproducts into bioenergy on-site, significantly reducing wastewater treatment costs and slashing energy bills. Similarly, in the food and beverage industry, this technology converts by-products and wastewater into biogas that can power production lines, saving thousands on treatment expenses. The ease and efficiency of these applications are truly impressive… it’s like giving waste a second life while keeping operations smooth and eco-friendly. This sustainable approach is not only smart from a business perspective but also essential for environmental responsibility.

Meet the Leadership Team

WASE was founded by a passionate trio – Dr. Thomas Fudge, Llŷr Anwyl, and William – back in 2017. Dr. Thomas Fudge, the CEO and founder, brings over a PhD in waste-to-energy and a wealth of startup experience, driving technical innovation with an acute understanding of business challenges. Llŷr Anwyl, the COO and founder, integrates a background in agriculture and civil engineering, having led bioenergy facilities implementation and sustainability plans for farming. The leadership is rounded out by Beth Abbott-Stratford, the CFO, whose experience in fast-growing startups and finance underpin the organization’s practical approach to tackling the planet’s greatest challenges. Board directors and advisors, including James Astor, Carlota Ochoa, Richard Gueterbock, and Carlos A. Chalbaud, further strengthen the project with decades of experience in strategy, finance, and bio-energy policy.
