Keys for Tomorrow curates sustainable development projects from around the world and organizes them by the UN’s 17 Sustainable Development Goals, so anyone can find real initiatives making measurable progress on the causes they care about.
Who built this directory
Arnaud Michel founded Keys for Tomorrow to solve a simple problem: credible sustainability projects are scattered across dozens of directories, award lists, and certification bodies, with no single place to browse them by UN Sustainable Development Goal, industry, or country.
His interest in the field is not new. In 2014, Arnaud’s master’s thesis on community currencies and sustainable development won the Prix Recherche at Belgium’s Prix de l’Économie Sociale. The following year, that research was published as “Community currencies and sustainable development: A systematic review” (with Marek Hudon) in Ecological Economics (Elsevier, 2015) — a peer-reviewed journal at the intersection of economics and environmental sustainability. Every project listed on Keys for Tomorrow is cross-referenced against established sources — B Corp, 1% for the Planet, the Solar Impulse Foundation’s Efficient Solutions database — before being tagged and published, rather than added on self-reported claims alone.

Projects aren’t submitted at random. Each one is sourced, cross-referenced, and organized so it can actually be found by the goal, industry, or country it relates to.

Projects are cross-referenced from recognized sustainability initiatives, including the B Corp directory, 1% for the Planet, and the Solar Impulse Foundation’s efficient-solutions database.
Organized by SDG, industry, and country
Every project is mapped to the UN Sustainable Development Goal(s) it supports, an industry category, and a country, so the directory can be browsed by whichever angle matters to you.
Kept free and open to browse
There’s no paywall or account required to search, filter, and explore the full directory. The goal is discovery, not gatekeeping.
What counts as a project here
The only real criterion is measurable, positive impact on sustainability, whether that’s reducing emissions, closing an inequality gap, or building something genuinely more resource-efficient. A few of the areas represented in the directory:
