What is Upcycling Forum?
Upcycling Forum is a platform for municipalities and businesses that want to systematize recycling. It is a meeting place for companies that wish to promote sustainable development through cross-collaboration. The project brings together production companies, the building industry, creative businesses, and trading companies, creating upcycling solutions for unused resources. The platform offers responsible, functional, and beautiful solutions that are as commercially viable as they are environmentally friendly… It serves as a hub where materials gain new life and where shared challenges turn into collective opportunities for better environmental stewardship and enhanced competitiveness in the creative, sustainable scene.
Main Benefits
The platform delivers an all in one solution by consolidating crucial tools and information under a single digital roof. Below is a quick summary of the key features and benefits:
- Materials and Inventory: Get an overview of materials and inventory, use them internally or sell them further.
- Projects: Create projects, add materials, and invite colleagues and partners.
- CO₂ Calculator: Document CO₂ reductions for materials and projects.
- Tenders: Manage tenders for selective demolition and contractor deliveries, while obtaining multiple offers.
- Locations: Create an overview of demolition projects, storage, and inventory locations, all gathered in one place.
- Group Marketplace: Establish a circular system and share materials with selected partners.
Legislative Drivers
New and upcoming legislative requirements are significantly shaping how projects like Upcycling Forum operate. Companies face rising pressure from evolving LCA requirements that now demand CO₂ calculations on all new constructions. With decreasing limit values for CO₂ emissions, there is a growing need to document reductions through recycling and upcycling. Moreover, starting from July 1, 2025, selective demolition rules will require materials that can be reused or upcycled to be mapped and identified before any demolition begins. This regulatory shift is not limited to large entities alone; as ESG considerations or Scope 3 emissions expand, even medium-sized companies (80+ million DKK) must innovate to reduce their environmental impact. All these pushes are intertwined with the platform’s promise to streamline operations and foster collaboration among diverse partners.
Licensing Options
The Upcycling Forum platform is available through several licensing models that cater to various business sizes and operational needs. For smaller teams, the PRO LICENSE supports up to 10 users, 3 projects, and 3 locations at a modest price of 2,000 DKK per month (prices excluding VAT). For those needing more capacity, the STRATEGY LICENSE caters to 25 users, 10 projects, and 10 locations for 5,000 DKK per month. Finally, the CORPORATE LICENSE is designed for large teams, supporting up to 100 users, with the ability to manage 50 projects and 50 locations, at a price of 12,500 DKK per month. These scalable licensing options ensure that every participant in the upcycling journey, from local municipalities to multinational construction firms, can find a solution that suits their needs.
Upcycling Bank and Cross-Collaboration
Embedded within the Upcycling Forum is the Upcycling Bank—a comprehensive resource where recycled materials, upcycling products, and pre-used inventory are made available for new life. This digital bank connects buyers and sellers directly, fostering an open dialogue that benefits every stakeholder involved. Passing by the traditional boundaries, the Upcycling Forum provides a collaborative space that makes it easier to share and optimize resources. It is a dynamic place where measures are not only responsible and efficient but are also designed to be visually appealing and functional, maintaining a balance between aesthetics, utility, and commercial viability.

The Future of Circular Economy
Upcycling Forum clearly illustrates a forward-thinking approach to the circular economy. In a world where unused resources are abundant yet underutilized, this platform champions the idea that cross-sector collaboration can rejuvenate materials and pave the way for sustainable growth. The project underlines that responsible upcycling solutions not only contribute to environmental goals but also enhance competitiveness in sectors such as construction and creative industries. This blend of sustainability and efficiency is particularly important when dealing with increasing pressures from new regulations and shifting market demands… The ongoing effort to strengthen circular material use globally is supported by digital tools that simplify processes and promote transparency, ensuring that partners feel motivated and equipped to engage in comprehensive recycling projects. As companies join forces to build a more sustainable future, the collective volume of eco-friendly practices creates undeniable impact, resonating well beyond individual projects. The synergy created through the platform builds a strong, dynamic network where sustainable actions generate both immediate and long-term benefits for the environment and society at large.
