What is the ILYA Project?
The ILYA project is all about revolutionizing showering habits by reducing water and energy consumption in a smart, efficient way. The cyclic shower system saves up to 70% of water and energy by switching to a cyclic mode when the user feels like it. At that moment, the shower takes in 5 liters of fresh water, which is then recovered, filtered, disinfected, and maintained at a virtually infinite temperature – yes, almost like magic! Traditionally, showers are a major consumer of household water (40%) and a significant energy user (13%), so this innovative solution tackles everyday consumption head on.
Main Benefits of the Cyclic Shower
Key figures and facts that highlight the advantages include:
- Up to 70% water and energy savings during use.
- 75% overall savings on water and energy for an average family.
- Annual savings estimated at €876 from reduced shower costs.
- A recoup cost period of only 3.5 years for the cyclic shower investment.
- Advanced patented technology developed through years of R&D and beta testing since June 2023.
Functioning of the Cyclic Shower
The cyclic shower offers versatility through its two operating modes – the open circuit and the closed circuit. In an open circuit, the shower works just like conventional showers, drawing water from the network, using it, and then draining it away. The showerhead limits the flow to 6 liters per minute to ensure a safe and steady stream. Then, there’s the closed circuit mode: when chosen, all the water used during the shower is recirculated, filtered, disinfected, and kept at a comfortable temperature, thereby providing an ecological shower experience without compromising comfort. It’s a system that recycles just when it’s needed and drains completely at the end, ensuring there’s no standing water left between showers… Pretty impressive, isn’t it?
Installation of the Cyclic Shower
Installation has been carefully thought out. A plumber can install the cyclic shower independently; however, remote technical assistance is available if needed. Detailed technical documentation explains all prerequisites, especially regarding the electrical and hydraulic connections. The installation requires an energy source in compliance with the NF15-100 standard, and a specific drain is provided with the shower system. Delivery is estimated at around €150 extra, while the shower itself is offered at a price of €3,000 including tax. Note that the shower tray, delivery, or installation services are not included in this price. This solution is best installed during new construction or when renovating a bathroom. The system is designed to be straightforward enough for professional installers to get it up and running without hassle.
The ILO Sensor and User Awareness
The ILO Sensor, manufactured in Occitanie, is designed to raise user awareness by displaying water consumption during the shower in liters. It’s incredibly easy to install and is completely energy autonomous—no need for batteries or external power supply. By simply showing the real-time amount of water used, it encourages users to reduce shower time and, in turn, further cuts down on water and energy consumption. This smart and engaging addition is an essential part of the ILYA project’s mission to promote sustainability in the most common household activity.
The Experience of the Cyclic Shower
This innovative shower system combines technology and ecology in a way that delivers a soothing, comfortable experience while promoting environmental responsibility. Users get the best of both worlds—a refreshing, evenly tempered shower experience and the satisfaction of knowing that each use is contributing to a significant reduction in household water and energy consumption. With the cyclic shower, there is a perfect balance between technology and nature, where every drop is put to effective use, fostering an eco-friendly lifestyle that is both practical and inspiring.

Delivery and Future Outlook
Pre-orders for cyclic showers placed in 2024 have already started being delivered, and this trend will continue throughout the first half of 2025. For orders made in 2025, deliveries are expected approximately six months after the pre-order date. This forward-thinking scheduling ensures that the system remains at the forefront of technological innovation in reducing water and energy use. By focusing on efficiency and environmental impact, the ILYA project not only stands as a cutting-edge solution for modern households but also plays a crucial role in advancing the sustainable development goals that are key to a greener future. The cyclic shower system and the ILO Sensor demonstrate that with a bit of innovation and smart design, the simplest everyday activities can be transformed into powerful actions for sustainability… The future of water and energy conservation in domestic spaces just got brighter!
