When the air quality drops, Birdie® literally drops down until you open your windows and bring it back to life. Simple as that. It’s an award-winning product made from recycled plastic and packed with a state-of-the-art CO2 sensor from Switzerland. This smart monitor keeps an eye on your indoor air, nudging you to take action when things get stuffy.
Main Benefits of Better Indoor Air Quality
Improving your indoor air quality isn’t just about comfort—it’s about feeling better every day. Here’s what better air can do for you:
- Less headaches
- Better concentration
- More energy
- Improved general health & well-being
The Indoor Climate Crisis
Did you know that about 90% of your life is spent indoors? And often, that indoor air isn’t exactly fresh. Poor air quality can increase risks of asthma, headaches, allergies, and even sleep disorders. Just in the EU alone, around 80 million homes are estimated to have a poor indoor climate. So, what’s the fix? Experts say one of the best solutions is simply opening your windows. Health authorities worldwide recommend airing out your space 2-3 times a day. Birdie® acts as a friendly reminder to keep that indoor air fresh and healthy.
Danish Design Meets Swiss Engineering
Birdie® is where sleek Danish design meets cutting-edge Swiss technology. It features a Swiss state-of-the-art CO2 sensor and is crafted from 70% post-consumer recycled plastics. This combination ensures not only top-notch performance but also a commitment to sustainability. Plus, the design is award-winning—so it looks good while doing good.
How Birdie® Works
Here’s the cool part: Birdie® monitors the CO2 levels in your room. When the CO2 concentration goes above 1,000 ppm for more than 10 minutes, Birdie® drops down as a signal that it’s time to open your windows. Once the CO2 level drops below 800 ppm, Birdie® perks back up. No apps, no lights, no sounds—just a simple, natural reminder to keep your air fresh. Charging is easy too, with a USB-C cable included, and the battery lasts up to six months after an 8-hour charge.
Birdie® and Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)
- Good Health and Well-being (SDG 3)
- Clean Water and Sanitation (SDG 6) – through improved indoor air quality
- Responsible Consumption and Production (SDG 12) – using recycled materials
- Climate Action (SDG 13) – promoting healthier indoor environments
Where and How to Use Birdie®
One Birdie® is usually enough to cover a room up to 100m². It’s best to place it in the room where you spend most of your time. For homes with multiple floors or closed-off rooms like bedrooms, having one Birdie® per floor or room is recommended. Hang it at a height between 1.5 and 2.5 meters using the included wall mount, which comes with both a screw and 3M tape option. Ventilating properly means opening multiple windows at once for 5-10 minutes, 2-3 times a day—something easy to forget, but Birdie® helps keep you on track.
