What the Project Is

SPECIALTY COFFEE FOR A BETTER TOMORROW – a project built around the idea that every cup of coffee can drive a more sustainable future. This initiative celebrates the taste of the best coffees in the world while ensuring that each bean is sustainably grown and freshly roasted daily. The project’s foundation supports coffee farmers and their families, making every sip a promise of a better tomorrow. With a focus on direct and fair trade, the project highlights an exceptional approach to coffee trading that leaves little to chance and a lot to care.

Main Benefit: Enhancing Lives and Coffee Quality

At the heart of the project lies a mission to stimulate sustainable change in coffee-growing regions. A solid commitment is made through projects that deliver tangible impact. Key figures and facts include:

  • Investment of 4 million euros in projects across growing regions.
  • Positive impact on the lives of 750,000 people.
  • Improvement in access to clean drinking water in Ethiopia through the WaSH project.
  • Establishment of an Annual African Breeders Hub in Rwanda, in cooperation with World Coffee Research, to train local farmers in enhancing coffee quality.
  • Construction of a solar power plant in Ethiopia to boost electricity for medical care—cooling blood donations, medications, and vaccines, and even supporting nighttime treatments and births.

Quality and Transparency in Every Cup

The project takes immense pride in its commitment to 100% naturally grown coffee that is fairly and directly traded. This approach ensures that each bean not only boasts superior taste and a unique acidity but also reflects the value of fair compensation for the hard work of coffee farmers. Every year, numerous highland coffees are tasted and evaluated, a process that keeps the project in close contact with coffee farmers in Ethiopia, Colombia, and Kenya. Coffee is personally purchased on-site, roasted in an exclusive roastery in Berlin, and then shipped in a climate-neutral manner—all core aspects reflecting meticulous quality and clear transparency.

A Journey as Exciting as a Treasure Hunt

THE JOURNEY TO COFFEE ORIGIN IS LIKE A TREASURE HUNT. In the serene highlands where coffees grow wild at over 2,000 meters in shady forest gardens, each harvest has its own story—its taste changes from year to year, much like the unpredictability of a hidden treasure. This narrative is not only about flavor nuances but also about ensuring fair purchasing prices that remain well above the world market value to guarantee that Ethiopian highland farmers have enough money to feed their families and invest in their future. There’s a lively spirit and a sense of adventure in every bean, making it seem like an exciting quest with every sip.

Fair Trade and Social Impact in Coffee Trading

The project’s commitment to fair trade goes beyond just coffee quality. It is rooted in transparency and long-term collaboration, addressing critical questions like how coffee is grown, harvested, and roasted. More than that, every kilogram of coffee sold comes with a one-euro donation that finances social projects. This amount is three times more significant when compared to other Fair Trade systems, with 100% of the donations going directly into specific, tangible projects. The method of direct trade supports ethical practices, ensuring that each involved stakeholder shares in the success of the venture.

Embracing a Better Coffee Future

What is especially noteworthy about this project is its balanced blend of exceptional coffee flavor with significant social impact. By emphasizing organic practices and ensuring that every bean carries a story of sustainability and fairness, the project effectively combines the best in quality, responsibility, and social benefit. It offers a genuine alternative to commercial coffee routines by fostering a direct bridge between sophisticated coffee production and global social initiatives. With key highlights like advanced agricultural processing and a bcorp score of 106.8, the project also embraces the modern demands for transparency in the marketplace. Terms like Coffee Circle, Organic Coffee Germany, Specialty Coffee, Coffee Berlin, Direct Trade Coffee, and Fair Trade Coffee resonate strongly, each echoing an assurance that quality and integrity are at the very core of every cup. Every part of the journey—from the cultivation and care of the coffee plants, through sustainable farming and hands-on quality control, to the final delivery in a climate-conscious manner—reflects a vibrant commitment to both flavor and fairness… a truly engaging adventure for all coffee enthusiasts.
