What is the Project?
TRANSFORMING BIKE PARKING: A REVOLUTION IS NECESSARY! Békille offers welcoming and innovative bike parking solutions designed for daily commutes, whether short or long. The project brings an inventive approach to an everyday challenge, refreshing the way bikes are parked in urban spaces. It is all about making local bicycle parking an inviting experience that transforms a simple chore into a smooth, integrated part of city life. The solution is not only smart but also thoughtfully designed to invite cyclists to rediscover their cities—making bike parking safe, functional, and a pleasure to use. Sometimes, the smallest changes can spark big revolutions… and in this case, secure parking spaces lead the way.
Main Benefit
Key figures on bike parking highlight the remarkable impact of well-designed installations. They offer undeniable evidence that intelligent design meets urban necessity:
- 20% – Increase in cyclists in cities equipped with bike parking (Department of Transport, United Kingdom, 2018).
- 30% – Decrease in theft due to secure installations (Federal Statistical Office in Germany).
- 40% – Swedes see lack of equipment as a barrier to cycling (Transport Research Institute in Sweden, 2019).
Innovative Bike Parking Solutions
Békille’s creativity shines through its range of products. There is the BÉKILLE DRAPEAU, a fixed or mobile bike stop offering 2 spaces, 3 attachment points, a height-adjustable tablet, integrated display, and it is relocatable. Then comes the BÉKILLE COMPACT, designed for fixed bike parking with 2 spaces; it’s easy to install, welcoming, reduces bike stacking, and even comes with a deposit available. For events, one finds the flexible BÉKILLE NOMADE, providing parking for six spaces and more, self-supporting, equipped with a height-adjustable tablet, a display, and customizable options. And there is the BÉKILLE ABRI – a covered solution with 6 and 8 spaces available, easy to install, functional, featuring a display and customizable capacity. Local bicycle parking has been reimagined; the bike rack makes it easy for cycloconsumers to park near the shops while doing their shopping—simple, sleek, and perfectly adapted to both urban and suburban needs.
Eco-conscious Manufacturing and Inclusivity
The responsible manufacturing aspect is a cornerstone of this innovative project. The furniture is part of an eco-design approach aimed at reducing environmental impact at every stage of its life cycle. Delivered flat to optimize transport and storage, these installations are assembled directly at their place of use. Manufactured 100% in France from robust and recyclable materials, this method fully aligns with a circular economy logic. Inclusivity remains at the heart of the design. The bicycle parking accommodates all types of bikes, from the most classic to cargo or adapted bikes. Its natural design respects public space requirements and makes streets accessible to everyone. The installations are fully detectable with a white cane, easing movement for visually impaired individuals. All angles are rounded without sharp edges to limit injury risks, especially in case of accidental contact. In short, the project does not just support daily commuting—it actively enhances urban life.
Urban Integration and Aesthetic Impact
Color is more than an aesthetic choice at Békille—it is a powerful communication tool that supports urban integration and effective signaling in public spaces. The color palette has been carefully designed to engage with territories and is inspired by their architectural, vegetative, and social identity. Bright shades like Grain de Soleil enhance the visibility of bike parking, serving as a beacon in dynamic cityscapes, while more discreet tones like Grès Faubourg ensure a harmonious integration into heritage neighborhoods. Each colorful piece of furniture invites a rediscovery of the city by bike, offering clarity, coherence, and softness to public spaces. The interplay of function and design creates a setting where urban sophistication meets practical ease. It feels as though every piece is carefully placed to bring vibrancy to the concrete jungle, sparking refreshing perspectives for urban explorers.

The Story and Leadership Behind the Revolution
Békille’s journey began in 2023 as a family business, devoted to making cities and villages more accessible by bike. The project took shape from the understanding of user needs, community demands, and feedback from field actors. The story is one of commitment and passion for sustainable urban mobility. As the narrative unfolds, the focus is on building sustainable customer relationships and ensuring quality remains at the heart of each development. The founders, CÉLINE COINTRE and CYRILLE COINTRE, lead by example, underscoring that cultivating welcoming spaces and innovative technology is not merely a business venture; it is a movement that rejuvenates public spaces and connects communities. Their vision sparks a conversation about cycling, urban mobility, and sustainable living that continues to evolve while quietly revolutionizing the everyday experience of urban commuting…
