A way to collect both solid and liquid floating trash in the ocean.
This solution brings a new, patented technology to the market that can be used to collect all kinds of floating trash. The hull of these ships is like a catamaran, but the bottom is closed off, making a channel inside the boat. There is a turbine that makes a suction flow that pulls in a lot of dirty water. The solid waste is then stopped by a filtering mesh, which lifts it up and dumps it on deck. If there was an oil spill, the hydrocarbons would float because they are lighter than water. They would get past the filtering mesh and be pulled into a tank that separates oil from water and stores it. Only clean water will come out of the vessel when it is flushed. The Double Flow technology lets both solid and liquid waste that floats be collected at the same time.
Positive facts about EFINOR’s Double Flow technology
Double Flow technology allows the simultaneous collecting of both solid (plastics, cans, algae, driftwood, etc.) and liquid (crude oil, fuel oil, lubrication oil, chemicals, etc.) floating waste
Quick response: Acting as autonomous cleaning systems, our ships recover hydrocarbons with a working speed up to 4 knots, filling their own storage capacities. All the vessels take less than 3 minutes to go from navigation mode to clean-up mode, they have
Low OPEX: All hydraulic controls actuating the various cleanup functions are controlled from the wheelhouse. Very few personnel needed to operate.
Multipurpose vessels: allowing tackling various services with only one ship
