What is Climat Local?
Climat Local is a SCIC (Société Coopérative d’Intérêt Collectif) of social utility with ESUS accreditation. Over several years, Climat Local has built strong expertise in RSE Strategy, Carbon Assessment, and Carbon Projects. This non‐profit cooperative supports local projects aimed at compensating remaining greenhouse gas emissions linked to various activities. By offering tailored, local, and ethical solutions, Climat Local establishes links between local actors, creates synergies on territories, and protects biodiversity. The approach is crystal clear: more projects for less CO₂… ensuring a better balance between human activities and nature.

Latest Carbon Projects
Recent carbon projects demonstrate the hands-on approach in addressing local emissions. For example, one project compensated 17 tons of CO₂e at the Espace Dupont project. Located at the Mas des Grands Pâtis in Beaucaire (30), this project involves the installation of a hedgerow and benefits from the expertise of technical partner PNR de Camargue, with Les Pâtis as the owner. Another exciting case is the PIERRE FABRE project which has compensated 18 tons of CO₂e through an agroforestry initiative rolled out at a territorial scale in Lagrave (81). Here, RIKOMIEL acts as the owner while technical expertise is provided by Arbres et Paysages Tarnais. In yet another initiative, the NUTRIPURE project has achieved a compensation of 31 tons of CO₂e by installing hedgerows and fruit trees in Belberaud (31) – with the City of Belberaud taking ownership. These projects, each unique in context and execution, reinforce that local actions can make a significant collective difference.
Embracing the RSE Culture
Corporate Social Responsibility (RSE) is not viewed as a constraint but as an incredible opportunity. RSE refers to the voluntary integration of social, environmental, economic, and ethical concerns into company activities and stakeholder relationships. It allows for a rethinking of performance through a balanced lens of impact, sustainability, and collective engagement. The philosophy behind RSE embraces a flexible, evolving approach, where companies are encouraged to build more resilient and humane operations. With fun and participatory workshops, companies are guided through defining priorities across the five RSE pillars – governance, economy, social, environmental, and societal – all aimed at creating a win-win scenario for both business and the community.
Interactive and Engaging Tools
A standout element of Climat Local’s approach is its interactive strategy. The use of the AMORSE© game—a playful, group reflection tool—serves to stimulate collective discussion. The tool’s cards inspire teams to identify key issues more dynamically, define concrete actions, and sharpen their awareness about RSE challenges. This collaborative process is engaging, casual, and sometimes sparkles with a sense of fun as ideas flow quickly and naturally. Whether companies choose to have a structured workshop or take a more experimental approach, the AMORSE© game helps ease the complexity of strategy building in a conversational and accessible manner.
Supporting Local Authorities and Low Carbon Methods
Climat Local’s commitment goes beyond simply selling CO₂ credits. The cooperative also actively develops low carbon methods, both with conventional labels (such as for mobility or third location initiatives) and through their own standards. The aim is to make these practices practically applicable in any territory and context. In parallel, Climat Local supports local authorities by helping establish local carbon credit funds that, in turn, finance ecological and social transitions. This comprehensive strategy not only drives sustainable urban development but also empowers local administrations to meet today’s pressing challenges with creative, informed solutions.
