In-line sensor to check the potable water that people get through distribution pipes.
The I-CENSE is a probe that checks the quality of drinking water in pipes in real time. The probe is put right into the pipe and measures chlorine, turbidity, conductivity, temperature, flow, and pressure. It sends the information to a supervisor through radio communication (4G LTE, NB IoT). It sets up a network to look at all of a city’s water pipes at once. It uses no energy and is connected to other systems. It is mostly used to make sure there is enough drinking water, but it can also be used for many other things. The main fields of use are making sure there is enough drinking water, controlling disinfection, checking for microbiological contamination, separating leakage flows, and managing assets.
Positive facts about I-CENSE
6 measurement done with only 1 insertion
1 year of functioning with each measurement every 5 minutes without maintenance
Today 30% of water injected in distribution is lost due to non detected leaks, which can be fixed by this Solution
80% of diseases due to bacterias in water distribution can be avoided
Total cost ownership is 50% cheaper than mainstream alternative
Can reduce by 17% the number of water bottles used due to better water quality in house
15% CAPEX savings, with better access to information
