Energy and nutrients are taken back from wastewater treatment plants for homes.
In 2016, Hydrell technology was made. It has made a technology for treating wastewater that makes it possible to get back energy, nutrients, and clean water at a much lower cost and with a smaller footprint than other technologies. The technology will also be more reliable than similar systems that are used now. When people use the Hydrell technology, they save more than 30% of their total operating costs, which gives them a reason to treat their wastewater. Electrolysis of wastewater works best when electroactive microorganisms on the anode oxidize organic and inorganic compounds (the positive electrode). CO2 and nitrogen gas are the products of the reaction (N2). At the same time, methanogenic microbes turn hydrogen gas (H2) into methane at the cathode.
Positive facts about Hydrell Systems
