A sensor system that can measure the protective atmosphere in food packaging without breaking it.
Food packaging has a protective atmosphere that doesn’t have any oxygen because oxygen makes food go bad very quickly. The OX100 sensor system can measure the protective atmosphere of 100% of packed food, medicine, and other goods without touching them. Along the distribution chain, statistical tests are done at each step of the packaging process. Every year in the EU, OX100 saves 25,000 tons of packaged food and 2,000 tons of packaging materials. This is the same as having 190,000 pigs and cattle, and it’s the same as putting out 240,000 tons of CO2 equivalents every year. Because of this, the quality of packaged food will get better, and the number of illnesses caused by spoiled food will go down. This will save the EU about 80 million euros a year in health care costs.
Positive facts about OX100
0.4% of packaged goods are discarded due to packaging process defects and random inspections. OX100 avoids these losses.
OX 100 enables as worldwide first system non-destructive 100% measurement of the oxygen content of each package without reducing productivity.
