Old diesel buses can be turned into clean, efficient buses that run on renewable energy sources alone.
Climate change is causing many problems for people and the environment. People’s health is hurt by the air pollution caused by cars in cities, and jobs in the auto industry are moving to Asia. Some of these things led to the Clean Vehicle Directive (DIRECTIVE (EU) 2019/1161) being made. This directive says that cities and towns have to buy a certain number of clean and energy-efficient vehicles. This is a huge problem for cities and towns, because the alternatives to diesel buses that are already available are not always good or are very expensive. To meet the needs of these cities, CMF takes their old buses, removes all diesel parts like tanks, engines, and so on, and replaces them with the patented CMF drive. It has an electric drivetrain and an onboard charger, and it saves energy in three ways: by reusing the energy from braking, by using the engine’s waste heat, and by making sure the onboard charger is always at the best load. CMF doesn’t make things that aren’t needed because of upcycling. The CMF drive is powered by liquid natural gas (LNG), bio-LNG, or natural gas made in a lab. There are already places to get the right fuel all over Europe, and the CMF can be easily changed to use green hydrogen as soon as there is enough of it.
Positive facts about CMF Drive
30 % more energy efficient than conventional buses thanks to the patented CMF drive
5 minutes refueling 500 kilometers driving thanks to the on-board charger
50 % less engine noise
100 % less CO₂ emissions with Bio-LNG
95 % less air pollution
90 tons of CO2 emissions per bus avoided through upcycling of used buses instead of producing new ones
€200,000 to €400,000 cheaper acquisition costs than battery electric or hydrogen buses
€120,000 to €190,000 fuel cost savings over a lifetime of 12 years for one bus compared to battery electric, hydrogen, CNG or diesel bus
No charging infrastructure needed
