This solution aims to improve the world’s environment by getting rid of waste and making carbon-negative hydrogen at the same time. Since 95% of hydrogen fuel is made from natural gas or other fossil fuels right now, the world needs new sources of renewable hydrogen to get to a future with no carbon emissions. The thermochemical process that makes syngas also makes a byproduct called char, which is almost pure carbon. The char is collected and used as fuel along with the rest of the tail-gas to make the energy needed to convert the waste feedstock thermochemically. So, the system gets all of the energy and heat it needs to run and make hydrogen from its own resources. It only needs fuel from outside sources to start up a new unit for the first time.
