EcoTiles – Recycled roof tile from discarded tires with high durability, stability and insulation, which avoids contaminating the environment.
Developed in 2019 in Argentina, ecotiles provides a solution to Green industry & infrastructure, Responsible consumption & production – in line with sustainable development goals for the future.
- 1 ton of tires = 4 tons of CO2.
- 47143.63 cm3 of car wheels = 7 roof tiles.
- More tenacious than non-ecological classic roof tiles, so it won’t break with hail.
- 1 ton of tires = 4 tons of CO2.
- Reuse of waste. For a 3×3 square meter roof I use 135 tiles, that is, 19 car wheels are reused, which would be thrown into the environment.
- Up to 65% cheaper than most of the mainstream alternatives (with similar capabilities) in Argentina.
- On average it has 20 years more durability than mainstream alternative. Both materials have a long lifetime but environmental conditions like hail reduce only the lifetime of the alternative.
