Making high-performance polymer foams on a large scale for industry.
For cost reasons, traditional insulation materials with thicker layers are preferred for better insulation performance. Aerogels and other expensive high-performance materials are needed in places with limited space or where special curves and shapes need to be kept to protect monuments. This often leads to solutions that aren’t as good as they could be because of the costs. Sumfoam makes a whole new class of polymer materials possible by making the pores in the foam 1000 times smaller than in regular foams. It has been shown for the first time that these foams can be made on an industrial scale with short cycle times using high-pressure extraction technology and a foaming agent that doesn’t hurt the environment. So, this is the first technology that makes it possible to make polymer-based high-performance materials on a large scale and at a low cost. It also has a positive and lasting effect on many fields of application.
Positive facts about Sumfoam
Reduction of 20-25% CO2-Emissions (compared to Aerogels)
2-3 times the performance properties (compared to commodity insulation materials)
SUMTEQ-technology reduces the pore size within the foam by a factor 1000 compared to common foams
Reduction of costs up to 50%
