Making new things out of agricultural waste as an alternative to wood.
Almost 700 million tons of waste harvests like agricultural straws are burned every year if they are not used. Burning agricultural straws in open fields and cutting down trees both add to the greenhouse effect, which is what causes global warming and climate change. XSTRAWDINARY is a simple strawboard made of waste straws from agriculture. Fibers are stuck together with high heat and pressure to make a material with a high density (up to 1200 kg/m3). During the whole process, there are no wastes and no water pollution. 1.63 tons of CO2 are saved for every 1 m3 of strawboard. The material can be shaped into different sizes and shapes and given different textures and colors. This makes it perfect for furniture, flooring, wall panels, and almost anything else from ceiling to floor and wall to wall! One use is to replace wooden and plastic pallets with pallets made out of strawboard.
