Creating and developing a way to recycle plastic packaging with more than one part
Some plastics are not as recyclable as they could be because they have additives that give the packaging special qualities (strength, lightness, etc.). Once used, these materials, which are called multi-component plastic packaging, are a big problem in the lifecycle of plastics (they end up being burned or buried at best), but they are a way to reduce the carbon footprint and overall weight of plastic packaging. LOCAL3 wants to create and develop an industrial solution for multi-component plastics by building processing units that use post-industrial and post-consumer waste deposits and make local products that are useful, competitive, and recyclable. The Solution makes it possible for all materials to be reused in a circular economy and is easy to use in the areas where materials are made. Sourced locally, changed locally, and used locally.
Positive facts about LOCAL3
1500 ton of multi-components plastic waste transformed in recyclable products, per production unit
Products locally transformed, avoiding 8000km * 1500 tons of CO2 per machine unit
Products produced will be 100% recycled and 100% Recyclable
Longer life time (3* more) so means 100% saving for the end user
The solution will avoid 1500 tons/yers landfill complex plastic waste per machine installed
Avoids paying (for EU) 800 euros/ton penalties (Tax on plastic waste)
