Inland waterways are a more environmentally friendly way to travel than roads or planes. There are almost a million kilometers of navigable waterways around the world. Even though it uses a lot of fossil fuels and has a poor infrastructure, it is still a reliable and cheap way to get around. The E-ROW concept would make it possible to reuse this fleet of electric or hybrid-powered boats by recharging them with a tidal/river turbine-equipped smart grid pontoon that has a low carbon footprint compared to other technologies.

This solution can be applicable in different cities of the globe such as in Bordeaux for pleasure cruises, in Abidjan for its lagoon passenger transport system or even for the public transportation network in Geneva
In production, no CO2 are emitted in the atmosphere and no water is used
