A p2r method for collecting and cleaning up oily waste from ships.
Different kinds of oily waste are made (cleaning pipelines, contaminates, and tank bottoms), but most of them come from ships, which move 90% of the world’s goods. There are strict rules (from the IMO and MarPol), but putting them into place is hard and expensive. Most of the time, people who make oily waste have to pay to have it picked up and/or treated so they can follow these rules. It still leads to illegal dumping and discharge in the sea or rivers, which is a shame. Buying back these oily wastes gives producers a reason to get them picked up and treated, and it helps the people who collect them stay in business. After the water and sediment have been taken out, the Petroleum Residue Recycling Unit (P2R unit) turns these leftovers into new commercial products that meet international standards. The distillation plan was made so that it could be used to treat slops, which are naturally variable, and it uses both atmospheric distillation and vacuum distillation in steps.
Positive facts about P2R Process
The P2R can offer worldwide port infrastructures, waste collectors (maritime and terrestrial) and ship-owners a cost-effective, environmentally friendly solution that complies with international and EU regulations regarding the treatment of oily residue
The P2R process can divide greenhouse gas emissions by three compared to the traditional process based on crude oil extraction, and helps preserve the raw hydrocarbon material stock.
Thanks to a financial incentive for waste generators and/or collectors, the process also allows to preserve oceans and rivers
Ecoslops solution financially benefits vessels and oily waste collectors. Its installation sustains the local collection system, creates new qualified jobs, and enhances local economy.]
