Cheap heat and power from a local source for cities and towns.
It is a new type of geothermal energy that uses hot brines to their full energy potential. Unlike most geothermal power plants, its advanced system gets its energy from both hot water and the gases that are dissolved in it and can be burned. The gases are separated from the water, and a gas engine is used to burn the gases. CO2 from burning and any that comes up with the hot water is collected and put back into the aquifer in a safe way. The result is energy that is clean, renewable, and doesn’t produce any carbon.
Positive facts about Geothermal heat and power plant
A life cycle CO2 footprint (over 30 years) of 5 grams of CO2/kWh, which is very competitive even compared to the state of the art solar and wind technologies.
