Evanesto® is an additive that speeds up the rate at which PLA-based plastics break down and can be composted. This additive, which is based on an enzyme, speeds up the depolymerization of PLA so that it can be certified as Home Compost. When used as a masterbatch, it doesn’t change the way industrial processes work. With Evanesto® inside, PLA-based plastics can be composted everywhere, both in factories and at home. Plastics that are too thin, too dirty, or made of more than one material can now be composted instead of being thrown away. The additive can help stop plastic pollution and get people to change how they use plastic and how they sort their trash. It is a turnkey solution that aims to get rid of the millions of tons of plastic waste that are burned or dumped today. This waste causes a lot of pollution, which the solution aims to fix by using composting as a supplement to recycling or reusing plastics.
