Companies can significantly minimize their carbon footprints caused by the popular alternative by utilizing Azteq’s CST platform technology (burning gas).
The CST platform generates high-temperature thermal energy while emitting no CO2. The parabolic mirrors focus solar irradiation on a collector-tube in the focal line, causing temperatures in the collector to reach 400°C. The thermal oil that flows through the collector tube is routed to a heat exchange unit.
Depending on the client application, the exchange unit generates steam or heated thermal oil that enters the customer’s industrial process.
Positive facts from Azteq
- 10000m² of CST aperture have a capacity of 5MW.
- The parabolic system take 4 times more energy from the sun than a PV system.
- CST platforms generate heath up to 400°C – All components can be recycled (aligned with circular economy principles).
- Depending on the available direct DNI, the CST platforms reduce CO2 emission by more than 20% – when thermal energy storage is applied, this reduction doubles.
- The CST platorms are extremely durable – the platform that have been build in the Nevada desert still run after 40 years .
- Zero emission impact on the environment during operation – No noise, no smell, no motion, no major disruption of the landscape and no impact on local biodiversity.
- Azteq delivers a heat-as-a-service solution – 0 Euro CAPEX.
- Thanks to its high efficiency, CST platform deliver close to 4 times more energy per m² then PV.
- The payback time for a typical CST installation is around 8 to 10 years.
Azteq’s business model, which is built on a heat-as-a-service concept, offers stakeholders a cheap and consistent energy price.
This technology provides a cost-efficient and environmentally friendly alternative for the production of thermal energy, especially in European industrialized regions where direct sunlight is limited.
The company offers a unique business proposal, Heat-As-a-Service, that unburdens the customer by avoiding capital expenditures. Customers only pay for the delivered, tailor-made industrial heat, making it an attractive option for those looking to reduce costs and increase sustainability.
Solar energy has become synonymous with electricity thanks to photovoltaic panels, but the sun’s radiation also has tremendous power to produce thermal energy. Azteq has the in-house expertise to build innovative industrial heat platforms that use parabolic reflectors to harness the sun’s radiation in an affordable and efficient way for western European industries and cities. With Azteq’s thermal energy platforms, companies can significantly reduce their ecological footprint while still maintaining high-quality heat.
