Bulk Trip Assist aims to make the way a logistics analyst schedules bulk deliveries more consistent. It does this by using an interactive tool that helps the analyst find the best route for the vehicle (to minimize the number of miles) and the inventory (to maximize the number of kilograms per kilometer) while still following business rules and constraints. After the proof of concept confirmed the vehicle routing, the small scale commercialization improved the tool’s ability to route inventory to get the most kilograms of product per kilometer driven. It also added more interactive features to give logistics analysts more freedom when planning shifts. The logistics analyst will still make the final choice, but they will use the tool to help them do their job.
