With this solution, we won’t have to put trash in landfills or burn it, which are both bad for the environment. Oxygen and steam are used in the FastOx technology to heat waste to 4,000°F (2,200°C). At this temperature, all waste breaks down at the molecular level, turning organic matter into an energy-dense gas called syngas and letting inorganic matter be recovered as either a stone that doesn’t leak or molten metal. The FastOx technology is modular and can be scaled up to large sizes. There are no process emissions, and everything that comes out of it can be sold. The system is very flexible and cost-effective to use because it can handle municipal solid waste, plastics, medical waste, e-waste, tires, and batteries.
