Designed in New Zealand in 2020, TreeTime provides a solution to Sustainable Cities and Communities and Climate Action – in line with sustainable development goals of the UN.
TreeTime is a non-profit organization created in 2020. TreeTime platform increases transparency in the donation process and enables people to plant trees with confidence that their contribution is making a difference – by following the tree evolution via an app. TreeTime aspires to be a platform through which individuals can seize control on how they address climate change.
Statistics :
- 2203 trees donated & planted
- 10.692.320 kgs of CO2 sequestration over 30 years
- Equivalent to 96,081,636 KMs by car, 23,496,648 KWh of Electricity Generated or 29 trips to space
At first, TreeTime believes that in order to combat climate change, we must minimize, mitigate, and adapt our behavior. TreeTime’s interface focuses on the mitigation of the impact of existing carbon emissions by making it accessible, affordable and transparent.
With TreeTime, you can grow and plant trees in New Zealand for the price of 2 cups of coffee. To this date, 2200 trees have been planted, equivalent to 10 million kgs of CO2 sequestration. This could mitigate the impact of driving 96 million kms by car.
In addition, when you donate for a tree on the TreeTime app, you receive planting coordinates of your tree.
In brief, via the app, you can :
- see the exact tree and location
- receive information and statistics to help you in the tree planting process
- see on a daily basis the approximate level of CO2 the trees have sequestered
Moreover, what is also unique with the app is that it uses drone technology, capturing TreeTime’s forest in video footage and photos you can then watch on the app. This way, donors are able to track their trees’ journeys from seed to big tree.
TreeTime’s goal is to foster a healthy relationship between humanity and earth. TreeTime strives to boost users’ mental health and connect them to nature by delivering frequent updates on their tree and carbon sequestration.
